Social Security together with the Hearing Notice will tell you to bring with you your driver’s license and Social Security card. I must say, however, in all of the Social Security hearings that I’ve handled, I’ve never had a judge ask me for a driver’s license or for a Social Security card. In order to be safe, bring those documents. These are peculiar times. I like to tell my clients that the judge probably won’t ask, but if the judge asks for your Social Security card and driver’s license, and you can’t produce it, the judge will think you’re a terrorist. I’m being only slightly sarcastic. Those are the documents that you should bring with you to the Social Security hearing.
