Social Security will review cases periodically at any time between three and eight years as a rule, five would be around an average, to see whether or not there has been a change in the disabled individual’s physical or mental condition which would result in their ability to hold a job in the national economy. If there is a review done, and if that review determines that you’re no longer entitled to Social Security, unlike a regular appeal where you have sixty days to take an appeal, you have ten days to take an appeal. Ten days, that’s a very, very short period of time. If your benefits are cut off, consult with an attorney immediately, because you only have ten days to respond. Not only that, but there is a way to continue your benefits while all of this is being sorted out. Even if you’re going to be restored at some future date, you’re not going to continue to get your monthly checks. It’s a very serious situation.
